Tips: The fountain show is very popular in the evening so in order to get the best Instagrammable photo of the Bellagio fountain you’ll need to show up 10 to 15 minutes before the next show in order to claim your favorite viewing spot for the light and water show.

The Bellagio Mayfair Supper Club

Best Time for Photos: During holiday periods when there is a special set-up, you will need to arrive at The Bellagio around sunrise before this area gets to busy. It is incredibly popular with Bellagio hotel guests as well as everyone else visiting Las Vegas.

Tips: As the Bellagio Conservatory is indoors, you can arrive during any type of weather and also just before sunrise to have the fewest other people in you photo. We arrived early one morning only to find that the Conservatory was closed for maintenance and cleaning. This is unpredictable, but if you find yourself with this situation, kindly ask a member of staff when it will re-open and you can plan to be one of the first people there.

Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace is another one of the famous themed Las Vegas Strip Hotels and Casinos, which seeks to give guests a feeling of the Roman Empire. Throughout the resort you will find many statues, columns, and artwork designed to evoke a felling of the Roman Empire era.

The Venetian Gondola Ride

Not only does The Venetian Las Vegas have canals, but they also have gondoliers that offer rides in a typical Venetian gondola boat. You can choose to have a ride in a gondola either inside or outside, but the indoor and outdoor canals are not connected. Our favorite Venetian gondola ride is outside as you can have beautiful views with the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Campanile in the background.

Hours: All gondola ridges begin at 10:00 AM every day. Outdoor rides are available until 10:00 PM and indoor rides until 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM, depending on the night of the week.

Price: Gondola rides cost $34 USD per person Monday through Thursday, and $39 USD per person Friday through Sunday.

Best Time for Photos: During the morning or afternoon. As you’re on your own gondola you don’t have to worry about other people getting in your photo!

Tips: The boats move slowly so you will have some time to take that perfect Instagram photo, however you’re not really able to get up and move around once on the gondola, so choose your pose and position on the boast wisely before setting off. Also keep in mind that the gondola ride only lasts about 12 minutes.

Just a short drive away from the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip is the World Market Center and Symphony Park. The Neon Museum Las Vegas

The Neon Museum is another classically Las Vegas Instagram photo spot as the museum showcases and tells the history of Las Vegas through neon signs, which Las Vegas is so famous for. Note that the museum has fairly strict rules about photography with cameras not being allowed, and only still photography with your phone. The museum is located just north of Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas and has free parking available for those with a car.

Downtown Las Vegas is centered around Fremont Street, and has been transformed into a large entertainment and gaming destination in and of itself. If you’re looking for lots of fun, partying, gambling, street performers, and free shows then you will enjoy Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas.

The Empty Club is an unusual Las Vegas photo spot as it actually used to be a gas station, which has since been abandoned. Interestingly, this is actually the oldest gas station in Las Vegas. Seven Magic Mountains

The Seven Magic Mountains art installation is a world-renowned photo location featuring 7 boulder totems painted in bright colors created by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. Seven Magic Mountains was opened in 2016, and originally scheduled to be open for only 2 years, however the art installation has been so incredibly popular that it remains open today, however it is still not considered to be a permanent installation. The dry lake bed is a wide-open flat area in the desert where you can take some incredible photos, especially at sunrise.

Tips: There are multiple dirt roads that lead to the dry lake beds. Try to find the one that appears most popular and easy to drive for your visit so that you don’t get stuck here. It is not advisable to visit just after or while it is raining.

Red Rock Canyon – View Point

Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas is a National Conservation Area that is popular for hiking, bouldering, and all sorts of other outdoor activities. What makes Red Rock Canyon so great is that it is extremely close to Las Vegas, making it a perfect day or even just half-day trip.

The Google Maps location listed below is the Calico View trail where you will have a stunning view of all of Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Strip, with mountains in the background. This is a beautiful location to watch sunrise or sunset over the city. To complete this hike you will need to park at the Sandstone Quarry Overlook Parking Lot and complete the moderate hike up to the viewpoint. Depending on your skill level it will take about an hour or so.

Best Time for Photos: We recommend visiting at sunset. While the sun will set behind you, the low orange light will illuminate the sky and city for a spectacular view.

Tips: The hiking trail is relatively easy to follow, however it does involve lots of climbing over large rocks; be sure to wear good shoes for this hike and also bring along plenty of water in the dry desert.

Red Rock Canyon – Calico Tanks

On the trail that leads to the viewpoint in the previous Las Vegas Instagrammable place, the Calico Viewpoint, you will first pass the Calico Tanks within a small canyon. The canyon has nearly endless photo locations to create some amazing pictures.

The Google Maps location listed below is the Calico View trail where you will have a stunning view of all of Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Strip, with mountains in the background. This is a beautiful location to watch sunrise or sunset over the city. The Eldorado Canyon mine is an abandoned gold mine which is surrounded by a number of restored buildings and classic cars, trucks, machinery, and everything you can imagine. You are free to partake in a tour of the mine, or just go an explore the vast open area that has many of the antiques scattered in the desert.

Joshua Trees at Wee Thump

Have you always wanted that perfect Instagram photo with a Joshua Tree but haven’t yet made it to Joshua Tree National Park in California? Look no further because Wee Thump outside of Las Vegas has just as many Joshua Trees and is virtually unknown. Valley of Fire Pink Canyon

The Pink Canyon is located near the Fire Wave, and is surprisingly close to the road, however it is not labeled so can be a little bit harder to find. You will find the Pink Canyon along the Mouse’s Tank Road just before the Fire Wave trailhead and parking lot on the eastern side.

Cathedral Gorge State Park

Cathedral Gorge State Park is a stunning Nevada State Park that is not often visited, but well worth the view for the incredible rock formations. Water erosion has created some incredibly unique and dramatic formations here over time. The park features a number of walking trails allowing you to get up close and personal with these rock formations.

Many of the best small slot canyons are right close to the parking lot so it is easy to explore them even if you don’t have too much time for your visit. The park also has a number of picnic facilities and free drinking water, making it a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch.

Tips: Be sure to explore deep into the crevasses of the rock formations. It is incredible how far back the small slot canyons go.

Zion National Park – Angel’s Landing

Located in southwestern Utah, Zion National Park is the closest of the ‘Big 5’ National Parks in Utah to Las Vegas. Zion National Park has become incredibly popular over the last few years and as such access to the main hiking area is restricted to free park shuttles. As such, you will first need to park at the Visitor Center and take the free park shuttle to reach the trailhead for Angel’s Landing. This hike is extremely popular and known for it’s scary drop-offs and narrow pathways. If you are a confident hiker you will have no problems, with the biggest obstacles being other people who probably shouldn’t be doing this hike.

Hours: Zion National Park is open all day.

Best Time for Photos: The Angel’s Landing hike is one of the most popular in the park and as such becomes incredibly busy. It’s best to start here in the early morning or late afternoon so that you reach the top before sunset for the fewest crowds.

Tips: The hike is very steep and has some extremely narrow areas with huge drop-offs. The hike is totally doable with time for most people with good shoes, however it’s not recommended for anyone with a fear of heights or who is unstable on their feet.

Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is one of the most impressive forms of engineering, dating all the way back to the 1930’s. The Hoover Dam is extremely important for controlling the Colorado River, controlling irrigation in the area, and providing power to a large portion of the American Southwest.

Lake Mead was created behind the Hoover Dam, which is a popular recreational lake in Nevada. You can explore the Hoover Dam Visitor Center and also walk along the top of the dam to create some great photos of this structure.

Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon National Park is the most popular national park daytrip or multi-day trip from Las Vegas. It is impressive in scale and really does have to be seen to be believed. The South Rim is by far the most popular area to visit; however, the North Rim should also be considered as it has some spectacular viewpoints as is far less busy.

Mather Point is one of the most popular viewpoints in the whole park, due to its location a short walk from the Visitor Center.  Mather Point also offers one of the most expansive views into the Grand Canyon and also allows you to see all the way to the bottom, where the Colorado River snakes it’s way through.

Grand Canyon South Rim Yaki Point

Yaki Point is another one of the most popular Grand Canyon National Park viewpoints. Here you have a view that allows you to see a vast area of the canyon. While some of the views are similar to Mather Point, Yaki Point provides a different perspective of many areas of the canyon and also showcases areas that you cannot see from Mather Point.

The trail is completely paved and easy to access, and includes many rock outcroppings that provide some incredible photography opportunities. Plan to spend some time here to find the best angles for your shots!

Point Imperial is actually the highest point on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at an elevation of 8,803 feet (2,683 m). From here you can see a huge area of the grand canyon, and on a clear day, the South Rim.

The ghost town of Rhyolite is located near the town of Beatty, Nevada and is a great short stop just before the northeastern entrance of Death Valley National Park. Death Valley Zabriskie Point

Zabriskie Point is an incredible and dramatic viewpoint in Death Valley. The viewpoint is surrounded by eroded sandstone rock, reminiscent of ancient badlands. Tips: If you have the time you can walk into the eroded canyons at Zabriskie Point and get lost in this beautiful area.

Death Valley Salt Flats

The Death Valley salt flats are immense and the unique nature of the salt flats allows for so many great photo opportunities. This location is also extremely popular as it is the lowest point in North America at 282 feet (86 m) below seas level.

The Painted Hills are a series of small hills that feature bright colors of pink, green, yellow, and everything in between based on the mineral deposits and erosion of the rocks here. Death Valley Sand Dunes

The Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley are the most popular of a number of different sand dunes in the park. They are easy to reach by car, located on the main road, and without too much effort you can be climbing the nearest sand dune in no time. Be sure to pack water with you when you get out on the dunes as it is easy to get tired very quickly.
