Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Location
The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is conveniently located close to San Jose del Cabo, the smaller city compared to Cabo San Lucas, however it offers just as much culture in a more approachable environment. The resort is about a half hour drive from Los Cabos International Airport.
The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort does not provide shuttle service, however they can help organize private or shared transfer for you from Los Cabos International Airport. Alternatively, taxis are readily available at the airport, but are a pretty steep $60 USD plus. Uber is illegal in Los Cabos, and is not allowed to operate at the airport.
That being said, Uber does operate, and you can use the service at your own risk, just not from the airport. We used Uber all over Cabo San Lucas and Los Cabos and never had any problems. Sometimes hotels may ask you to walk off property to be picked up, but it is generally not a problem. Even though Uber is considered illegal, we consider it a much safer option than taking a taxi, and we also prefer having a clear upfront price, our location being tracked; all Uber drivers we had were super friendly, and the service is surprisingly inexpensive.
If you don’t have private transportation organized, a rental car is also a great option. All major brands are located at Los Cabos International Airport, and having a rental car is a great way to explore on your own and visit all of southern Baja California. RentalCars.com is a great site to use to compare all of the different rental cars available at Los Cabos International Airport to find the best deal. At the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort, self-parking is available and is complimentary.
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Arrival
When arriving at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort, you will first have enter the resort gates to reach the check-in area. This just involves providing your nam e so that the guard can confirm you have a reservation at the resort.
When you pull up to the check-in area at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort, you’ll be impressed at how expansive it is, with a direct view out to the ocean. If you are an elite member of World of Hyatt, there is a separate check-in area that you will be taken to fill out the required forms, and to receive your welcome drink which will be made right in front of you at the bar cart!
As we arrived during COVID-19 times, safety precautions were in place such as hand sanitizers and all of the staff were wearing face masks throughout our stay, as were most guests except when at the pool or dining at a restaurant.
Check-in was completed quickly and easily, and we were soon off to our room with our luggage arriving shortly after.
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Rooms
There are three large buildings at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort. The main building, where you arrive and where you check-in is located, is at the center of the resort and also includes most other amenities. To either side of this main building are two ‘L’ shaped towers that form the basis of the resort and where most rooms and suites are located.
During our time at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Resort, we stayed in an Ocean View Master King Room which was located in the C Building, or the one to your right as you face the ocean. The room was a large nearly 584 sq ft (54 sq m), with a comfortable King-size bed, sofa bed, work station, seating area, and outdoor terrace. The terrace was our favorite place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening, taking in all of the warm weather that Los Cabos has to offer. The room also features a complimentary mini bar and bathroom with views out through the room to the ocean as well.
The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has a wide range of other rooms and suites available, including lots at their exclusive Club Level. There’s also swim-up rooms that will have you in the water with just one step outside of your room.
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Amenities
When you arrive at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, you are located in the middle of Building A. At this level you will find to your right-hand-side the Coffee House, and many other restaurants. To the left-hand-side and one level down is the Zen Spa, which offers many spa treatments, but also a relaxing water experience. Stretching out in front of you is the main resort area with a gigantic pool, and unique water features with areas to sit and relax.
When you face the ocean, Building B (to your left) and Building C (to your right) house most of the rooms and suites. On the ground levels they also include some restaurants and other amenities.
The main resort area also includes an infinity pool which includes the Bar Azul swim-up bar. There are cabanas throughout the resort that you can reserve in advance so that you can be sure that you will always have a great place to sit around the pool, no matter what time you arrive.
On the far side of Building C is the adult-only pool as well as the adult-only Baja Bar for drinks and quick snacks throughout the day. We found this area always to be surprisingly empty and it was easy to find a place to relax. As this area of the resort faces west, it also receives sun longer into the evening compared to the main resort area.
At the opposite side of the resort, on the far side of Building B, you will find the KidZ pool with waterpark and other activities to keep kids entertained throughout your stay, including the supervised KidZ Club. The KidZ Club is included as part of the all-inclusive experience.
The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has lots of amenities to keep everyone entertained for their visit, no matter what their preference. The resort also offers daily activities and live entertainment each night.
Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos Dining
As an all-inclusive resort, the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has an impressive 16 different dining and drinking places to choose from. If those are not enough, you also have the option of 24-hour room service!
We didn’t have a chance to eat at all of restaurants, but wanted to highlight some of our favorites to keep you happy and well fed throughout your stay. We were incredibly surprised by the level of service everywhere we dined and went at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. The incredible service by all staff really made a difference in how much we enjoyed the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos as everyone was such a joy to interact with.
The main restaurant offering a large breakfast and lunch buffet is La Plaza, which has an extensive offering, so you’re sure to find something you like. We found the Mexican breakfast options to be the most impressive and delicious that they are all worth trying. Lunch is also available at Zaffiro near the beach, and at the snack huts located at both pools. We really enjoyed the taco truck if you’re looking for a quick bite.
For dinner, you have a lot of options, though it is recommended to have a reservation for all. El Cortijo offers Spanish cuisine, DoZo has Japanese cuisine, Bon Vivant a French food experience, Zaffiro for Italian, and El Molino for local Mexican meals.
If you’re looking for a fun dinner, the Teppanyaki experience at DoZo is a must-try. The chefs flip and twirl the food with an expressive and interactive cooking experience that has to be seen live to truly be experienced.
Last but not least, the Coffee House, located near the check-in area. We frequented this place multiple times each day for the excellent latte’s and a sweet treat or two. The service with a smile always made us feel welcome. If you enjoy good coffee, you’ll be at home here at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos.
The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos also offers a special and unique dining experience for those looking to celebrate a special occasion or just celebrate life. You can have a Romantic Dinner which involves a private, romantic dinner, located right on the beach! The set-up is very romantic, and definitely worth splurging for, though it is surprisingly affordable. You can choose your meal plan ahead of time and you will have excellent personalized service throughout the evening. This is a definite must-try if you haven’t tried this type of dining experience before.
