The Hyatt Zilara Cancun Resort is a great adults-only all-inclusive option on the busy Cancun Hotel Zone. If you’re looking for somewhere to kick-back and enjoy the good life under the Mexican sun, this is the place for you!

Hyatt Zilara Cancun Location
The Hyatt Zilara Cancun is located along the popular Hotel Zone outside of Cancun. The resort is about a half hour drive from Cancun International Airport.
The Hyatt Zilara Cancun Resort does not provide shuttle service. You can book transfer to your hotel from Cancun Airport Round-Trip Transfer as a shared shuttle option or private airport transfer. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but are at least $45 USD each way. Uber is illegal in Cancun and is not allowed to operate at the airport.
That being said, Uber does operate in Cancun city, and you can use the service at your own risk, just not from the airport. We used Uber to get around Cancun, however service was spotty at best. Sometimes we opened the app to get a ride and there were no cars for over 20 minutes. It’s best to always have a plan B if you want to use Uber to get around Cancun. Even though Uber is considered illegal, we consider it a much safer option than taking a taxi, and we also prefer having a clear upfront price, and our location being tracked; all Uber drivers we had were super friendly, and the service is surprisingly inexpensive.
Booking directly through Cancun Airport Transportation is also a great option. If you prefer a rental car, all major brands are located at Cancun International Airport, and having a rental car is a great way to explore on your own and visit the area around Cancun. RentalCars.com is a great site to use to compare all of the different rental cars available at Cancun International Airport to find the best deal. At the Hyatt Zilara Cancun Resort, valet parking is available and is complimentary.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun Arrival
When arriving at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, you drive up the large circular driveway and you will be greeted by the valet who will help you with your bags and direct you to the check-in area. Check-in is completed in the impressive lobby area with a beautiful ceiling. If you are an elite member of World of Hyatt, there is a separate check-in area that you will be taken to where the check-in process will be completed, and to receive your welcome drink!
As we arrived during COVID-19 times, safety precautions were in place such as hand sanitizers and all of the staff were wearing face masks throughout our stay, as were most guests except when at the pool or dining at a restaurant.
Check-in was completed quickly and easily, and we were soon off to the elevator to head up to our room on the top floor with our luggage arriving shortly after. The elevators are located on the far left and right sides of the main lobby area.
Hyatt Zilara Cancun Rooms
The suites at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun are all located within the main tower building, and all have beautiful views of the insane turquoise waters of the nearby ocean, as well as the expansive beach area of the resort. If you are located on a higher floor, there really is no bad view out of the Hyatt Zilara Cancun.
During our time at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun Resort, we stayed in an Ocean View Junior Suites Double Room which was located on the top floor in the middle of the building, perfect for this Hyatt Zilara Cancun review. The room was a large, nearly 653 sq ft (61 sq m) with comfortable beds, a double jetted tub in the room, sitting area, and large bathroom. There was also a coffee maker and stocked refreshment center in the room. If you order room service, the rooms also offer a unique “magic box” that can be accessed from both inside and outside the room for discreet 24 hour room-service.
We really enjoyed the outdoor terrace for sitting outside in the beautiful warm Cancun air, and watching the waves roll in. All of the rooms at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun face the ocean, which means sitting on your outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise. The terrace had chairs for sitting on, as well as a cool outdoor hammock, perfect for relaxing away an afternoon reading a book. The hammocks at the Zilara definitely proved popular as many people were out enjoying the ability to swing in the breeze.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun Amenities
Like all Hyatt Zilara properties, this is an adults-only all-inclusive resort, meaning that all guests must be over 18 years of age. When you arrive at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, you are located in the middle of main building, at the ground level. Here you will find an expansive indoor open area where the nightly entertainment is held, as well as some shops, the lobby bar, access to the main restaurant, and a café. The large indoor area is truly huge, but you’ll see why it needs to be so large during the evening entertainment shows!
When you walk outside you’ll be impressed by the amazing views straight out to the ocean. The resort area has two huge pools, that are surrounded by cabanas and lounge chairs to relax in, and also includes a swim-up bar, volleyball nets, and other activities throughout the day. You can join in the fun for a volleyball game or water aerobics class, all included. All of the cabanas around the pool are complimentary and are first come first serve, however if you really want to step up your vacation, the Hyatt Zilara Cancun offers two-level cabanas on the beach which can be reserved to spend the whole day at. They also include butler service and a bottle of champagne when you reserve a cabana.
The Hyatt Zilara Cancun offers daily entertainment, such as music, dance performances, comedy, magic shows, etc. nightly in the main indoor area. People arrive early to catch the shows, so we recommend also arriving perhaps 30 minutes before the show to save a good seat. You can order drinks from the Lobby Bar and grab a sweet treat from the nearby café to watch and enjoy the show. We recommend arriving a little bit before the nightly shows as the bar tends to get a bit backed up right at the beginning as everyone orders a drink at the same time, just before the show.
If you’re looking for a more relaxing time during your stay, be sure to check out the huge spa area. For this Hyatt Zilara Cancun review we had to try out the Zen water circuit featuring different types of water hydrotherapy, showers, and water temperatures. It is a truly relaxing place to be, and perfect way to make the most of your Hyatt Zilara Cancun vacation! In addition to the typical spa treatments, the spa also offers unique experiences where you can make your own lotions and scrubs, all the while learning about all of the ingredients and how they work. These are available for an additional charge. See the Hyatt Zilara Cancun Spa reception for additional details on timing and cost.
If you’re planning to stay at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun on a honeymoon, anniversary, or other romantic occasion, they have you covered with a dinner under the stars, or couples massage, both on the beach, both for an additional cost. The Hyatt Zilara Cancun does make a better couples destination vs. the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, as the Ziva is more geared towards family vacations rather than couples retreats.
Of course if you are looking to stay active, the resort has a large workout area, which also has impressive views of the city of Cancun and is a great secret place to catch the sunset.

The Hyatt Zilara Cancun has a lot of amenities to keep everyone entertained for their visit, no matter what their preference, and best of all it’s all included as part of the all-inclusive experience.
If you were considering traveling with children, it is worth noting again that the Hyatt Zilara Cancun is an adults-only resort, so you may be better off taking a look at the nearby Hyatt Ziva Cancun.
Hyatt Zilara Cancun Dining
As an all-inclusive resort, the Hyatt Zilara Cancun includes all dining and drinks as part of your stay, and features 6 different dining options to choose from. If that is not enough, you also have the option of 24-hour in-suite dining included as well!
We didn’t have a chance to eat at all of restaurants, but want to highlight some of our favorites to keep you happy and well fed throughout your stay.
The main restaurant offering a large buffet for all meals of the day is Spice. It’s located on the left hand side of the main indoor area on the ground level, towards the beach. We found the buffet selection expansive, and the quality of the food for an all-inclusive buffet was much better than expected compared to a typical resort. Lunch and dinner here were also excellent, with different options available each day.
Pelicanos is the seafood restaurant located outdoor between the pools, overlooking the ocean, and they also served breakfast, lunch, and dinner a la carte. The food and service here were excellent, and who doesn’t love eating outdoors in Mexico? We definitely recommend having your lunch here to be able to take in all of that fresh sea air and views.
Alternatively, the Hyatt Zilara Cancun also offers Asiana for Asian-inspired dishes, as well as a fun Teppanyaki experience. Maria Marie serves up gourmet Mexican cuisine for dinner hours, as does La Adelita Cantina, in a more casual environment.
For an upscale and special dining experience, be sure to check out the Chef’s Plate experience for a memorable multi-course meal prepared by the executive chef, and served in a small, intimate setting. The Chef’s Plate experience is available to those guests staying in select room categories, or is also available for an extra charge for all guests. The food here was truly excellent, and each course was also paired with the appropriate wine by the resorts sommelier. This is a delectable dinner that you won’t soon forget.
If you are a coffee lover like us, Casa del Coffee, located on the beach side of the main indoor area will be one of your favorites. We frequented this place multiple times each day for the excellent latte’s and the occasional sweet treat or ice cream. You can easily stop by here any time to grab some coffee, tea, or something else and take it to go. We can also recommend picking up an iced coffee before heading to the pool!
The Hyatt Zilara Cancun also offers a premium private dining experience for those looking to celebrate a special occasion or just celebrate life. You can have a Romantic Dinner which involves a private, romantic, candle-lit dinner, located right on the beach. The team at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun is ready to prepare anything you need to celebrate with your special someone.
